Inspired by their class visits to the ADP as part of New Mills Festival, Year 4 & 5 decided to make their own version of a riot but on a smaller scale. Each child had a shoebox and many brought little figures and vehicles from home to use to create a scene of their choice. Some created a riot similar to that by Jimmy Cauty, seen in the container. Others chose to create a less destructive scene!
The classes joined forces in the hall to make their creations, sharing resources and ideas brilliantly. The cooperation shown was fantastic, as were the end results. Both classes used the activity as a basis for a writing lesson as well – a true cross-curricular event!
