Year 3 & 4 Football Competition for Boys!

Written by Mrs Williams

This week saw the turn of Year 3 and 4 boys to show their football talents. Nine teams from schools across the New Mills Cluster gathered at New Mills Leisure Centre. We took two teams to the event. All the schools performed well and all players got fully involved.

Our Red Team produced some great teamwork and, despite some outstanding individual play (from captain, Logan), narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-final.┬áThe Blue Team finished first in their league, earning them a place in the semi-final against St Mary’s. There was some fantastic football and some outstanding individual performances from team captain, Blake, Joe and Theo Proctor in goal resulted in a win which placed the team in the final.

Another good match finished with New Mills Blue Team coming second overall – a very commendable performance. Well done, boys!

well done boys, I was really impressed with your attitude and team work. The Red team were very unlucky not to make the final. Well done blue team on your place in the final – we did our best and had a great afternoon.
