World Book Day

Written by Mrs Williams

New Mills Primary School celebrated the 19th World Book Day with activities in their classrooms in the morning and finished off the day by sharing our favourite bedtime stories in our House groups. Older children read to younger children, staff read to children and the children shared their books with each other. Everyone went home with their World Book Day £1 token. What book will you buy?

Year 5 visited the library to do their morning activity – a Scavenger Hunt. Armed with a list of things to be found (a witch, porridge, someone shouting, etc) they had to source books containing each item on the list and record the page they had found it on. The class enjoyed their trip out and managed to put the books back where they got them from!
