Table Tennis Competition

Written by Mrs Williams

Six schools from the High Peak area took part in the Table Tennis competition at New Mills School on Wednesday 16th November. New Mills Primary School took three teams to the event and played alongside teams from Hayfield, Dinting, Chinley and Hague Bar. The event differed from others with the boys and girls playing separately and the competition running as a knock-out.

Some of the teams played very competitively but the ethos from New Mills Primary was to have fun and learn some new skills. Both the girls and boys teams played well, despite their lack of experience, and both gained a place in the semi-final. The experience of the other teams proved too much for New Mills Primary with both teams finishing in fourth place.

Mrs Fisher would like to thank the team captains, Iwan, Esme and Alfie for their leadership skills and a special mention for Ivan, Ollie and Jordan who rose to the occasion and played some great table tennis.
