The children in Years 4, 5 & 6 enjoyed a whole day of science on Tuesday with the opportunity to carry out investigations and experiments. Year 6 were focusing on the heart and circulatory system; once they’d all found their pulse rate they were able to do some investigating about the effect of exercise on their bodies.
Year 5 were learning about the Solar System. They made orbiting models of the Sun, Moon and Earth, measured the distance of each planet from the Sun using toilet paper (one sheet = 50,000,000km!) and recreated the Solar System out of food!
Year 4 were investigating solids, liquids and gases. They also learned about the Water Cycle. (Photos to follow)
I ate the edible solar system when I got home. It was so delicious
The food planets did not last long.
