21 Bridges Challenge

Back to the PE, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) page

Following on from the success of our Trig Point Challenge in the summer of 2020, we have put together a new challenge for 2021. 21 Bridges is designed to encourage families to explore our local area and we hope it will encourage children to stay active through the dark days of January and February. The Bridges of New Mills link our town and tell us about the social and economic history of the area. The challenge is focused on 21 bridges for 2021 and has 3 parts:

Bridges challenge

How many Bridges can you visit? There will be a question to answer at each bridge and an overall ‘magic number’ to find! Medals and certificates will be awarded for the number of bridges visited. Download the list of bridges.

The Bridge Challenge is being run as a sponsored event and money raised will go towards PTA funds to bring extra resources and activities into the school. As an extra challenge and to inspire the children, Mrs Fisher is planning to visit all the bridges in one day. Sponsorship money can be paid into the PTA Just Giving account. More info…
