New Mills Primary Goes Potty!

Written by Mrs Williams

Children from across our school enjoyed our pottery painting day on Thursday which the PTA organised to raise additional funds for the school. The ‘pod’ was transformed into a pot painting workshop run by Helen Jacobs from “Peak Potters” in Whaley Bridge. Throughout the day children were able to drop in to paint a mug, tile or Christmas tree decoration. These will be glazed, fired and returned to school in a few weeks time for the children to take home.

The event provided children with the opportunity to try a new form of painting and many chose to make great Christmas presents for friends and family.

Many thanks to the parents who supported this event which we hope to run again next year. It raised over £300 to be used for the benefit of all our pupils.
