Seven schools from around New Mills took part in the Area Boccia competition today at New Mills Leisure Centre. Year 8 students from New Mills School helped to run this event as part of their leadership course.
Participants tried their hand at a variety of target games including traditional Boccia, Curling and 6 pin bowling.
The emphasis of the afternoon was on fun! The children were encouraged to take part rather than the competition being about winning. Mrs Fisher would like to say well done to all those who took part. All the children particularly enjoyed the curling activity. This may be something that we try and buy equipment for so that we can use it in school PE lessons and clubs in the future.
What was everyone’s favourite bits?
