Boccia competition

Written by Mrs Williams

On Wednesday 10th February, a team of Year 5 & 6 pupils accompanied Mrs Fisher and Mrs Ratcliffe to New Mills Leisure Centre to participate in the annual Boccia competition. We took three teams and played against teams from Thornsett, St George’s, Hayfield and Hague Bar. The games consisted of traditional Boccia, bowling and curling, all of which were new to the players. Each player’s score contributed to the total for the school and when it came to totalling the figures; New Mills came first by just one point! Close call! This was a great result for our teams and every one of them made a valuable contribution. Well done to you all. You brought the trophy back with you!
