The children at New Mills Primary School are given so many wonderful opportunities!! The Reception and Year One children have had the chance to improve their bicycle riding skills in their first Balance Bike training session, on a gloriously sunny Monday in March!
Balance Bikes have no pedals and are designed to help children to learn to balance on their own and ride a bike without the need for stabilisers. The session was run by Beth from Cycle Safety Instruction, the company that delivers all the Bikeability training in the High Peak area.
The children took part in a variety of fun games and activities on their bikes and all improved their skills even in the first session. They are lucky enough to receive three more sessions over the next few weeks with a view to them moving on to pedal bikes by the end of the course.
We look forward to following their progress on the website!
