A Day of Goodbyes

Written by Mrs Williams

The last day of the school year is always a day filled with mixed emotions, extreme tiredness and a strange sense of anticipation. This year was no exception but there were a few more goodbyes than we are used to!

Our lovely Year 6 children began the day with their assembly, sharing memories of their time with us and showing off some of their talents. We thanked our retiring High Peak Kids Council representatives and welcomed our newly elected ones – congratulations Alfie and Lucy.

An assembly to wish Mrs Plant well in her retirement was next with some poignant lyrics reducing many in the hall to tears!

A goodbye to a long-serving dinner lady came at the end of lunchtime, before all teachers said goodbye to their classes, ready to welcome them back in September a whole year older!

Have a very happy summer everyone!
