Christmas Jumper Day!

Written by Mrs Williams

Friday 16th December was National Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for the Save the Children Charity. Many children and staff at New Mills Primary School joined in this event by wearing their colourful knits! Everyone gathered together for a Celebration Assembly – it was a very bright school hall!

During the assembly, run by three Year 6 pupils, there was a raffle amongst the Key Stage 2 pupils. Children had been earning raffle tickets for good behaviour, excellent work, super manners, etc over the last two weeks. There were eight winners – two children won a bag of goodies and six children won a bag of chocolate coins. The winners of two competitions were also announced – Guess the Name of the Snowman and Guess How Many Sweets Are in the Jar. Both winners were from Key Stage One.
